FAQs

Common questions about Virtual GP.

How long will I have to wait?

We offer pre-booked appointments at a time that suits you, plus an instant waiting room option. At times of high demand, the waiting room can take up to 60 minutes — but we'll let you know when your clinician is ready, so you can carry on with your day in the meantime.

Can you write me a referral?

Yes — and it's sent to your inbox instantly, included in the cost of your appointment.

Can you prescribe medication?

We can prescribe most medications — antibiotics, pain relief, contraception, repeat prescriptions and anything else routinely prescribed by your GP.

In line with UK guidance, we cannot prescribe Schedule 1–3 medications (morphine and other controlled substances).

What's an electronic prescription?

Your clinician sends you a prescription token instantly — present it at any UK pharmacy and they'll dispense your medication. Tokens are issued via our partner SignatureRx.

Can you issue a sick note?

Yes — we can transmit an electronic sick certificate during the consultation that you can forward straight to your employer.

Can you advise on results from another provider or my NHS GP?

Yes — as long as our clinician can see the results, they'll help interpret them and advise on next steps. You can upload documents during the consultation.

What if I need a face-to-face follow-up?

If your clinician decides you'd be better seen in person — usually only in exceptional circumstances — we can arrange a clinic appointment for £40 follow-up, or refer you for further investigations (blood tests, ECGs, ultrasounds) at standard Duality prices.

Unlike many virtual providers, we have a network of physical clinics open 7 days a week — so follow-ups are easy.

Are Duality memberships available?

Yes — individual memberships start at £34.99/month and family memberships at £69.99/month, with significant discounts on appointments and services. See all membership options →

Do you treat patients outside the UK?

No — virtual appointments are only available to patients physically located in the UK at the time of consultation.

A doctor, anywhere you are.

Book online, speak to a Duality GP from your phone — no callback queues, no journey to a clinic. £49 per video consultation.
