Urgent Care or A&E?
When to book us — and when to go straight to A&E.
If your symptoms are life-threatening or rapidly worsening, A&E is the right choice. For everything else, Duality Urgent Care can usually see you faster, without the long wait.

Same-day issues that need a clinician but aren't emergencies.

- Chest pain or suspected heart attack
- Severe breathlessness — can't speak or walk easily
- Collapse, or feeling like you're about to collapse
- Suspected sepsis
- Suspected stroke
- A child losing consciousness or with deteriorating breathing
- Signs of meningitis or sepsis in a child
- Severe bleeding that won't stop
If our clinician sends you to A&E: we'll provide a referral letter so the hospital has your assessment on hand. You'll still be triaged in A&E by clinical need, but the medical opinion you've already had means you've had your symptoms assessed and advised on. Referral to A&E doesn't entitle a refund — your appointment fee covers the clinical assessment provided.
