Mental Health

A safe space to talk, and feel heard.

Private GP-led mental health support across Northern Ireland — for depression, anxiety, stress, and everything in between.

Your 30-minute first appointment gives you space to talk properly. Our GPs listen, prescribe where appropriate, and connect you with counselling, psychotherapy or psychiatry through our partner network.

You're not alone.

One in four of us will experience a mental health issue in any 12-month period. It's more common than people realise — and the sooner you talk, the sooner you can start to feel better.

What we help with

Common reasons people book.

Whatever's on your mind, our GPs have heard it before. Whether you have a clear sense of what's going on or just know something doesn't feel right, we can help you make sense of it.

Why Duality

What sets us apart.

Mental health needs time. Our model is built around giving you that — without the long waits or rushed appointments.

30-minute first appointments

Time to talk, properly. No rush, no clock-watching — space to fully share what's going on and agree a plan.

Continuity with one GP

Stay with the same clinician throughout your journey. You can also choose the sex and age of your GP at the booking step.

Virtual or in clinic

Initial appointment ideally in person, but follow-ups can be by phone, video or in clinic — whichever works.

Willingness to prescribe

Our GPs prescribe medication when it's clinically appropriate — and won't hesitate when you need it.

Therapy network

Access to qualified counselling, psychotherapy and psychology when you need talking treatments alongside medical care.

Specialist referrals

Expedited access to consultant psychiatrists via our Kingsbridge partnership — we can often book your appointment before you leave the clinic.

How we help

From first appointment to ongoing support.

A clear pathway that flexes to what you need — talking, medication, therapy, or specialist referral.

Lifestyle, medication, therapy or specialist referral — the right combination for you.

4

Ongoing care

15-min follow-ups by phone, video or in clinic — with the same GP who already knows your story.

It's good to talk

Not sure how to start? That's normal.

Talking about how you feel can be hard — especially when you're not feeling well. Sometimes it's easier to talk to someone who doesn't already know you. No preconceptions, no baggage.

If you're unsure whether to come in, here are a few things worth knowing.

Worth knowing before you book:

  • Your problem isn't too small or unimportant — everyone deserves help.
  • Be honest and open. We've heard it all before.
  • Focus on how you feel, not what diagnosis you might fit.
  • Try to describe how you've been over the past few weeks or months.
  • Use whatever words feel natural — there's nothing specific you need to say to get help.

FAQs

Common questions about Mental Health.

Will you prescribe medication?

Yes — for adults, when it's clinically appropriate. Our GPs are happy to prescribe and won't hesitate when medication is the right step.

For under-18s, mental health prescriptions are only issued under the direction of a Child & Adolescent Psychiatry consultant — that's standard practice in the NHS and private sector. We'd refer to a consultant first.

Can you refer me to a psychiatrist?

Yes — we have expedited access to a full range of consultant colleagues via our partnership with Kingsbridge Hospital Group. We can often book your specialist appointment before you leave our clinic.

Do all my appointments need to be in clinic?

No. We strongly recommend the first 30-minute appointment is face-to-face — it's easier to build a connection in person — but follow-ups can be by phone, video or in clinic depending on what suits you and your GP.

Do you look after children too?

Yes. Severe paediatric mental health issues usually need consultant (secondary care) input, and we won't prescribe medication for children without that. In most cases though, children don't need medication — talking therapies and lifestyle support come first, and we can connect families with appropriate services.

Can you refer to CAMHS or the Crisis Team?

No — direct CAMHS or Crisis Team referrals come through the NHS pathway. If you need same-day urgent NHS psychiatric input, please attend A&E where you'll be assessed by the on-call team. See the urgent support section above for crisis lines.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Your appointments, treatment and any prescriptions stay between you and our team. We don't share information with your NHS GP unless you specifically ask us to, except in very rare circumstances where we're concerned for your safety — your GP will always discuss this with you first.

Can I choose a male or female GP?

Yes. We have male and female award-winning GPs across our clinics — pick the one you'd feel most comfortable with at the booking step.

Take the first step. We'll do the rest with you.
