Do I need to give up my existing health insurance?
Not at all — the two work best side by side. Your health insurance handles hospital-level treatment when something's diagnosed. Duality handles the primary care layer that sits before that — the GP appointments, everyday niggles, blood tests, screening and prevention that insurance policies typically don't cover.
Is the 15% off just for the first year?
No. Use code LSNI15 at sign-up and the 15% discount applies to your monthly rate for as long as you remain a Duality member — with no annual re-application needed.
Who's eligible? Am I in?
The offer is open to all current Law Society of Northern Ireland members — practising solicitors, apprentices, associate members and retired solicitors on the roll. If you're on the Society's rolls, you qualify.
The discount also extends to your immediate family when they're on your Family or Couple plan.
What if my firm already pays for something?
Many firms pay for private medical insurance (Bupa, Aviva, Vitality, etc.) — that's a great benefit, but it's not primary care. It won't help you get a same-day GP appointment when you've got a case running the next morning. Duality fills that gap.
Some firms are also offering to part-fund or expense Duality memberships as a wellbeing benefit alongside insurance — worth asking your practice manager.
Where are your clinics?
We have five Duality clinics across Northern Ireland — Belfast (Bedford Street), Newry, Ballymena, Omagh and Derry / L'Derry — plus a Virtual GP service available nationwide from your phone.
Are there any pre-existing exclusions?
No. Unlike traditional insurance policies, Duality doesn't exclude pre-existing conditions and doesn't ask you to declare medical history at sign-up. Your membership covers you from day one, regardless of what's happened before.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes — memberships are month-to-month with 30 days' notice. There's no lock-in, no exit fee and no annual commitment.
