Appointment Types

Book the next available clinician.

Choose how long you need — 15 or 30 minutes — and we'll book you in with the next available GP or Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Why "next available"? Both our GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) deliver the same standard of care for everyday concerns — and ANPs often have earlier slots, meaning you're seen sooner.

Your Care Team

GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners — equal care, more availability.

Our clinical team includes both GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs). Both can diagnose, prescribe, refer, and treat — so most patients can be seen by whoever has the next available slot.

General Practitioners (GPs)

GMC Registered · MRCGP

UK-trained doctors with NHS experience and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.

  • Full range of GP services
  • Complex diagnoses & second opinions
  • Joint injections & minor procedures
  • Specialist referrals

Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs)

NMC Registered · Master's-level

Senior nurses with master's-level clinical training, fully qualified to diagnose, prescribe and treat the everyday issues that bring most people to a GP.

  • Most everyday GP issues
  • Sick notes, prescriptions & follow-ups
  • Chronic disease checks & reviews

Same standard of care — often a faster appointment.

Booking with the next available clinician gets you seen sooner without compromising on quality. You can still request a specific GP at the booking step if you'd prefer.

FAQs

Everything you might want to know before you book.

Quick answers to the questions we hear most about in-clinic appointments.

What's the difference between a GP and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)?

Both can diagnose, prescribe, refer, and treat — so for the vast majority of everyday concerns you'll get the same standard of care from either.

Our GPs are UK-trained doctors (GMC Registered, MRCGP) and are the right choice for complex diagnoses, second opinions, joint injections and specialist referrals. Our ANPs are senior nurses with master's-level clinical training (NMC Registered) who specialise in the everyday issues that bring most people to a GP.

Can I request a specific GP or clinician?

Yes. When you book, you'll see the "next available" option at the top — but you can also scroll to choose a specific clinician if you'd prefer to see the same person you saw last time.

Booking with the next available clinician usually means you're seen sooner.

How quickly can I be seen?

We hold same-day and next-day slots at all five of our clinics. Availability varies by clinic and time of day, but the booking system will show you the earliest slot the moment you open it.

Do I need to be a Duality member to book?

No. You can book any appointment as a pay-as-you-go patient. Members do get preferential rates and priority access to booking — you can learn more about membership here.

Should I book a 15-minute or 30-minute appointment?

Book a 15-minute Standard Appointment for one straightforward issue — a prescription request, sick note, follow-up, simple ache or routine chronic disease check.

Book a 30-minute Extended Appointment for more in-depth concerns, multiple issues in one visit, first mental health or women's/men's health appointments, or reviewing results for a second opinion.

If you're unsure, book the longer slot — you can always finish earlier.

Can I get a prescription during my appointment?

Yes. Both our GPs and ANPs can issue private prescriptions during your appointment. You'll receive it electronically after your consultation so you can take it to any UK pharmacy.

What if I need a specialist referral?

Our GPs can issue private specialist referrals during your appointment. If you're seeing an ANP and a referral is needed, they'll arrange for a GP to review and issue the referral letter.

Where are your clinics located?

We have five clinics across Northern Ireland — Belfast (Bedford Street), Newry, Ballymena, Omagh and Derry / L'Derry. You choose your preferred location at the booking step.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

Absolutely. You're welcome to bring a partner, family member, friend or chaperone. If you'd prefer a chaperone to be present during any part of the examination, just let your clinician know.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel or reschedule from your booking confirmation email, or by contacting the clinic. We ask for at least 24 hours' notice where possible so we can offer the slot to another patient.
