Your Care Team
Our clinical team includes both GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs). Both can diagnose, prescribe, refer, and treat — so most patients can be seen by whoever has the next available slot.
GMC Registered · MRCGP
UK-trained doctors with NHS experience and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
NMC Registered · Master's-level
Senior nurses with master's-level clinical training, fully qualified to diagnose, prescribe and treat the everyday issues that bring most people to a GP.
Booking with the next available clinician gets you seen sooner without compromising on quality. You can still request a specific GP at the booking step if you'd prefer.
We allow one family member to attend if the patient requests it. It is also advantageous that patients be accompanied if they require assistance, are vulnerable or require collateral history.
As Duality Health is a busy clinic, accommodating patients with a busy life, we typically stick to scheduled appointment lengths, unless there is a serious medical emergency.
This policy allows us to provide a convenient and valuable service, and ensures we give every patient the same high level of respect.
Our clinicians will prescribe antibiotics when clinically appropriate, following the same evidence-based guidance as our NHS colleagues.
While private GP appointments are an excellent way to receive a quick and insightful medical opinion, we offer no guarantee of a prescription. Prescribing antibiotics on request would be poor medical practice, and could cause you more harm than good.
We can refer you to the NHS or private sector providers. However, except in cases of hospital admission or a 2-week-wait cancer referral, most other waiting times for NHS care run into 12 months or more. This is inclusive of urgent referrals.
For timely consultant opinions, we strongly recommend being referred to one of our private secondary care partners.
Referral letters and printed prescriptions generated during the consultation are included with the cost of your appointment. Later requests for referrals or prescriptions will carry a fee.
If you receive a private prescription, you are responsible for the cost of medications at the pharmacy.
We do not currently prescribe or administer Schedule 1-3 drugs. However, we can prescribe non-Schedule medications, and Schedule 4 & 5 medications.
If your appointment is to ask for specific medication, please check the relevant government guidance before booking your appointment.
