AMH testing

Anti-Müllerian Hormone bloods to assess ovarian reserve.

Cycle blood monitoring

Local bloodwork during stimulation and treatment cycles.

Consultant liaison

We'll communicate directly with your specialist team abroad.

STI screening

Pre-treatment STI testing — required by most fertility clinics.

Specialist referrals

To private (Kingsbridge) or NHS fertility clinics where needed.

When to consider help

You're not alone — and it's never too early to ask.

Most couples conceive within a year of trying. If you've been trying longer, or you know there are factors that might affect your fertility, a GP consultation is a good first step. We'll listen, run baseline tests, and help you understand what (if anything) needs to happen next.

Consider booking if:

  • You're a woman aged 35 or under and have been trying to conceive for more than 1 year
  • You're a woman aged 36 or over and have been trying for more than 6 months
  • You know you have a health condition that can affect fertility
  • You've had previous fertility treatment
  • You're taking medication that may affect fertility or pregnancy
  • You need donor sperm or eggs to conceive
  • You're trans or non-binary and considering treatment that may affect fertility

FAQs

Common questions about fertility care.

Are there good fertility providers in Northern Ireland?

Yes — there are NHS and private fertility clinics across Northern Ireland and the wider UK. We can refer you to a private clinic via our Kingsbridge partnership, or signpost to NHS services where appropriate. Your GP will help you understand the options that fit your situation and budget.

Do many couples travel abroad for treatment?

Yes — increasingly so, both for clinical outcomes and price. We're happy to support that journey: prescriptions, blood monitoring, scans and direct liaison with your overseas consultant team, all from your local Duality clinic.

Can you do sperm tests?

Semen analysis works best when the sample reaches the lab within 30 minutes of being produced. We don't run an in-house lab for that, but several clinics in Belfast and Dublin do — plus regional NHS services. We'll point you to the closest one and review results with you afterwards.

I think I need a salpingogram — can you do this?

Salpingograms are an invasive imaging test that needs specialist equipment. We'll refer you to our partners at Kingsbridge for any invasive tubal testing.

What if I'm trans or non-binary and considering treatment?

Speak to a GP before starting any treatment that may alter your body — whether surgical or hormonal. Fertility preservation is much easier to plan before anything begins. We'll talk through what your options look like and help you connect with a specialist clinic for storage if you'd like to proceed.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Your consultation, results and any treatment we facilitate are entirely confidential. We won't share anything with your NHS GP unless you ask us to — and you can choose when (or whether) to involve them.

Take the first step — we'll guide the rest.

Book a confidential GP consultation and we'll listen, examine, run baseline tests and help you understand what comes next.
