Child ADHD medication & psychiatry care.

Yes — medication management requires a confirmed ADHD diagnosis. If your child hasn't been assessed yet, start with the Child ADHD Assessment: a £49 Initial Consultation, appointments within 7 days, and a school-recognised diagnostic report.

If your child was assessed and diagnosed through ADHD Now, they continue directly into the psychiatry programme — no intake needed. If your child was diagnosed by another provider and hasn't started medication, book the £49 Intake Consultation. If your child is already stable on medication elsewhere, the transfer of care pathway starts with the same £49 intake.

A member of the psychiatric team reviews your child's external diagnostic report for clinical acceptability, alongside a risk screening covering mental health, physical health (including cardiac history) and current medications. If suitable, your child enters the shared care pathway.

The 6-month Initiation & Titration programme includes specialist psychiatric appointments with a nurse prescriber, advanced nurse practitioner or consultant psychiatrist; baseline physical observations with Duality Healthcare before medication starts; titration reviews at 4-week intervals; and a stability review at 6 months. Duality Healthcare membership is included within the monthly fees.

Children titrate over a longer period than adults, which is why the programme runs for 6 months rather than 3.

Once your child is stable on the right medication and dose, they move onto a Duality Healthcare membership from £49.99 per month — covering 6-monthly medication reviews with ADHD Now, 6-monthly physical observations through Duality, and prescription continuity. Monitoring is built into the shared care model. Before medication starts, Duality Healthcare completes baseline physical observations — blood pressure, height and weight, a cardiac examination and an ECG, with bloods where clinically indicated. During titration, your child has reviews at regular 4-week intervals, followed by a stability review at 6 months, then ongoing 6-monthly reviews and observations.

Children under 10 receive physical observations every 3 months, in line with NICE NG87 guidance.

No — medication is never automatic and never mandatory. Suitability is assessed first, medication options, differences and side-effect profiles are discussed with your family, and proceeding is a joint decision under the agreed shared care plan. If medication isn't recommended or isn't the right fit, alternative supports such as coaching and therapy are discussed.

Yes. For children already diagnosed and titrated on medication elsewhere, the transfer of care pathway starts with a £49 intake consultation reviewing the external diagnosis, current medication and stability. A 3-month review & transfer programme (£289/month) follows before your child moves onto ongoing membership care.

Psychiatric care — assessment of suitability, prescribing and medication reviews — is delivered by ADHD Now's child and adolescent clinical team, led by Consultant Psychiatrist Dr Vishnu Pradeep. Physical health care — baseline and ongoing observations — is delivered in person by Duality Healthcare as the physical health partner under a shared care model.
