The assessment is carried out using a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) approach — two or more clinicians who specialise in child and adolescent ADHD assess your child using evidence-based tools, following DSM-5 criteria aligned with NICE NG87 and UK best practice.
Yes — in the majority of cases the assessment can be done entirely online via secure video conferencing, offering comfort and convenience at home. Not every child will be suited to an online assessment; this is discussed and assessed at your Initial Consultation.
Most assessments focus on children aged 8 and older, but exceptions can be made if symptoms are clear and significant in children over six years old. Clinical consensus suggests age six is an optimal time for assessment, as school attendance allows symptoms to be observed across both home and school settings.
The Initial Consultation is £49. If a full assessment is appropriate, the Clinical Assessment is £655 and the Diagnosis & Report is £595 — a total of £1,299 for the complete three-step pathway.
Payments can be spread throughout the process, and Klarna allows the Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis & Report to each be split over monthly payments.
Yes — the diagnoses are HSC-recognised and accepted by schools across Northern Ireland. They can be used for SEN support plans and to access learning support, exam Access Arrangements, and other school-based accommodations where appropriate.
Yes. The comprehensive reports are suitable for CCEA / JCQ exam Access Arrangements (extra time, separate room, reader, scribe) and Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) applications. All necessary documentation is provided to support these applications where clinically appropriate.
No — you can self-refer directly. We do encourage keeping your child's HSC GP informed for coordinated care, and the clinical team may liaise with them during the process.
Initial Consultations are typically available within 7 days. The full process, from Initial Consultation to final diagnosis, usually spans 3 to 6 weeks depending on specialist availability. The diagnostic report is delivered within 10 days of the assessment.
Yes — with parental permission, schools complete questionnaires that offer a clearer picture of your child's functioning. Teacher insights into school behaviour and performance are a valuable part of a robust diagnosis, which requires symptoms to be observed across multiple settings.
Post-diagnosis, if the clinical team and consultant psychiatrist determine your child is suitable for online treatment, medication can be prescribed through ADHD Now's Child & Adolescent Psychiatry service — delivered as a shared care pathway with Duality Healthcare.
