Job Title: Locum General Practitioner (GP)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Practitioner(s) to join our team at our Omagh clinic, providing comprehensive healthcare services to our patients. You must have worked in a GP Surgery setting, seeing undifferentiated patients. Out of hours experience is of benefit, but not essential. We would particularly like to speak to GPs who have partner/salaried experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide high-quality medical care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment and follow-up.
  • Conduct thorough examinations and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Prescribe medication and treatment plans in accordance with current guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a highly organised and empathetic Administrator / Call Handler to join our front-line Patient Experience Team. Our Patient Experience Advisors are the cornerstone of the delivery of excellent patient/customer care. You will be the first point of contact for patients, handling a high volume of inbound and outbound calls with professionalism and care. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver outstanding customer service while managing a range of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Calls & Front of House
  • Act as the first point of contact for patients via phone and email, providing a warm, professional, and supportive service at all times.
  • Manage inbound and outbound calls, including appointment bookings, rescheduling, membership enquiries, treatment information, payments and follow-up calls.
  • Support patients with queries relating to tests, bloods, and treatment pathways, escalating to clinicians where appropriate.
  • Manage membership patients, ensuring their needs are met and they receive a premium level of service.
  • Identify potential new members and pass them on to the membership coordinator for a scheduled follow-up call.
  • Promptly and accurately input and update patient information in practice systems, creating workflows and tasks as required. This includes managing the ‘virtual waiting room’.
  • Handle basic complaint resolution with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary.
  • Work closely with clinical and administrative colleagues to ensure smooth patient flow and continuity of care.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to GDPR and data protection guidelines.
  • Contribute to the overall efficiency, smooth running, and patient experience of the practice.
  • Provide cover for the Front Desk reception as required on an ad hoc basis.
  • Attend daily ‘Huddle’ either face to face or virtuality dependent on location.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to remain up to date in new systems and processes.
  • Support and help to train new members of the team, as required.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in healthcare, front of house or a hospitality based, customer service call-handling role is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for patient care.
  • Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using MS Office computer systems and booking software.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to manage patient expectations effectively.
  • A team player with flexibility and a proactive approach.

Job Overview:

As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) at Duality Healthcare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Working autonomously within your scope of practice, you will assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of conditions, including acute and chronic illnesses. You will also support the wider clinical team, contribute to service development, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. This role requires strong clinical expertise, decision-making skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent patient care.

What you will be doing:

Clinical Assessment & Patient Care

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic investigations.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions, prescribing medications where appropriate.
  • Provide advanced clinical interventions such as minor illness and injury management, wound care and urgent care.
  • Ensure patients receive timely, evidence-based care in line with clinical guidelines.

Prescribing & Treatment Planning

  • Independently prescribe medications within your scope of practice and adhere to prescribing regulations.
  • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans, ensuring safe and effective care.
  • Provide lifestyle advice and preventive healthcare guidance to support patient well-being.

 Compliance & Team Support

  • Collaborate with GPs, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Ensure adherence to RQIA regulations, infection control policies, and clinical governance frameworks.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with GDPR.
  • Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives, service development and clinical audits.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Independent Prescriber qualification
  • Experience working in general practice, urgent care or primary care
  • Up-to-date training in safeguarding, infection control, and emergency care
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and patient interaction abilities
  • Ability to work independently and make autonomous clinical decisions
